• What is a Life Event?

A Life Event is a change in your personal situation like getting married or divorced, having a baby, or losing your current health coverage (for example, dropping from a parent’s coverage at age 26). Outside of open enrollment, a Life Event is your only other opportunity to change your benefits during the year.

  • What is Open Enrollment?

Open enrollment is a period of time when you may elect and/or make changes to your current benefit package. This event happens annually in the fall and elections become effective on January 1st of the upcoming year. This is the only time of the year that you can make changes to your benefit elections unless you experience a qualifying Life Event (see below).

  • Am I eligible to participate?

All regular, full-time employees, who work 30 or more hours per week, are eligible to enroll in the 2019 Benefits Open Enrollment.

  • When is Benefits Open Enrollment?

The open enrollment period begins on Monday, October 15 and closes on Friday, October 26.

  • What is an Active Enrollment?

An active enrollment is when you must elect your benefits for the upcoming year. Your benefits will not rollover except for employer-paid benefits such as life insurance and/or short-term/long-term disability insurance (if applicable).

  • When will I receive information about the 2019 benefits and rates?

Your 2019 Benefits Enrollment Kit will be mailed through the U.S. Postal Service the first week of October. The packets will be mailed to your home address. If you have moved in the last nine (9) months and haven’t told us yet, please contact HR Shared Services at [email protected] or 800-303-0408, Option 3

  • What if I do nothing?

If you do nothing during Open Enrollment, you will only have employer-paid benefits such as life insurance and/or short-term/long-term disability insurance on January 1, 2019.
